"There are so many things I love about breastfeeding my son. Things both practical and things just out-of-this-world adorable. I love that I am giving him the best nourishment available, and I love when he smiles so contentedly. I enjoy the slowing down of real life and relaxation that nursing provides for me, especially when I stare into his eyes. I know that breastfeeding is providing both of us with health benefits that will last long after our nursing relationship is over. I feel our bond so much stronger while nursing, and I experience many moments where I feel like my heart is so full of joy and love for him that it is about to burst. I love that I can use breastfeeding as a form of comfort when he is tired, sad or hurt. My favorite breastfeeding moment recently was when he was nursing while I was on the phone with Kimberly and was sighing repeatedly loud enough for her to hear. It just means so much to me to be able to do this for him." ~Megan, mama to 10 month old Brayden

"I am in awe each time I gaze into my son's eyes and hold him close as he nestles in to nurse. Not only am I providing the perfect nourishment to fill his belly for excellent physical growth, but also the perfect comfort and love for the ever growing development of his mind, heart and soul. When he is at my breast, I know we are sharing something so utterly complex yet so amazingly simple." ~Kimberly, mama to 13 month old Trent

  1. "Something so utterly complex yet so amazingly simple"... that brought tears to my eyes, and it sums up EXACTLY how I feel. I love this blog. It reminds me that I'm a part of something so much bigger than just myself and my daughter, and yet, when I am nursing her, the rest of the world doesn't exist, it's just the two of us.

  2. Love these pics! Thank you so much for doing this project. I check in eagerly each week and love both seeing your photos and reading the narrative of the mothers. Their words so often and so eloquently echo my own sentiments as I continue my own breastfeeding journey with my 10-month-old daughter.

This blog is not intended as a place to debate breastfeeding. There are plenty of other forums on the web for that. It is a place to celebrate breastfeeding. Only positive comments will be posted. Thanks!
